Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 3/4 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups of granulated sugar
  • 4 eggs, at room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of milk, at room temperature
  • 4 cups of fresh cherries, pitted and halved

Cooking Steps

    Preheat oven to 350°F and grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

    In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

    In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

    Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
